Our Self-catering Log Cabin Rentals Are Set on
68 Acres and Rich in History.

Awesome log cabins built on the site of an old ‘Sawmill.’ We were told the sawdust was 6 feet deep at the time of the build and was used for the insulation of the waterline services. The craftsmanship of Mark Deagle Log Building Ltd Hinton is breathtakingly beautiful. Three cabins are on site, all at least 150 feet apart, surrounded by trees for total privacy. Located in Rock Lake and Solomon Creek Wildland Park, adjacent to Jasper National Park and the Willmore Wilderness. A unique base for many trails right from camp and the surrounding area.

I have stayed twice now at Rocky Mountain Escape Log Cabins, the first time in the summer of 2021 shortly after the new owners, Julia and Gary, took over, and then again this past summer. Although it was a wonderful and unique experience the first time, the improvements made over this past year are outstanding! It is such a wonderfully serene and perfect cozy cabin experience that I really can’t say enough…

I cannot express how perfect the log cabins are, how hospitable Julia and Gary were throughout our stay, how beautiful the location is, and how absolutely peaceful the whole experience was. There were so many charming touches! We had access to everything we needed to cook and to be comfortable without removing the wilderness aspect of the location. Our little car was able to make it there in the summer no problem! This is the perfect place to unplug and unwind!

My husband and I had a lovely time at this little mountain getaway. The scenery and views were fantastic and our hosts were very welcoming an attentive. It was a great place to unplug and relax. The cabins were beautiful and so homey with a wood burning fireplace. I know my husband loved cooking on the big outdoor griddle.

Everything was above and beyond our expectations. From the impeccable cleanliness and quality of the cabin we stayed in (and all of the furniture and furnishings to boot), to the delicious meals we enjoyed courtesy of the griddle (seriously throw your bbq away and get one), and the stunning views of the mountainside, stars and planets at night around the beautiful bonfire area. The hosts, The Walkers, are so fabulous, generous and thoughtful to say the least….

Gary and Julia are very kind and great hosts. My husband and I loved so much the cabin and our time there. The cabin is very clean and cozy. We appreciated being out of the city and not having phone signal. We highly recommend and make sure you book minimum 4 days because we stayed for 2 nights and it wasn’t enough for us.Thank you very much Julia and Gary. See you next time!!!

We could not have been happier with our stay, and we were honestly disappointed to have to leave. The journey was part of the fun as you venture to the property you really get a sense of just how deep in the wilderness you were getting. The drive was quite easy, the instructions provided by The Walkers were spot on and Google maps also worked quite well…

We loved our time here. Beautiful wood cabin in the woods that offers you a chance to completely unplug and decompress. We arrived on the later side and let Gary and Julia know. They were there to greet us and help us familiarize ourselves with the cabin. Gary had a fire going and ready for us! It is a lovely space with everything you need to enjoy your time there…
