Hoff Ridge featured here is a 10km hike over a gradual incline, ending in a steep 1,500 ft climb to the ridge.

Explore the forested valley above Mumm Creek, which runs right through the property. No crowds, no city noise, your phone will not ring or ding. The silence is golden and the scenery is spectacular. You may hear the sound of water from the creek and experience the sights and sounds of wildlife which is abundant in the valley. We are not a major tourist attraction, what you call off the beaten track. You have the freedom to enjoy our backyard at your own pace, go where you want, when you want!

Travel equipped and be prepared.

Amenities
While we are somewhat remote and surrounded by wilderness, you can still savour the outdoors without roughing it. Solar power delivers lighting, and wood stoves provide heat. Find a small refrigerator and cool box to store your food and beverages. There is a griddle outside for all your cooking needs, a two-burner stove inside for tea/coffee and all the pots/pans/crockery and cutlery you should need.

There is no set schedule so that you can enjoy the magic of Mountain Time!

Hiking
We have trails starting right at the ‘Escape’ cabins or starting at nearby Rock Lake. Avalanche Chute and Hoff Range are two of the more challenging hikes.

We are set in the stunning Alpine forests. You can find wildflowers and wild birds. Our wildlife is just that – WILD. While we will see plenty of evidence of wildlife presence (scat, tracks, markings), it is unlikely that we will encounter any animal face-to-face during the hike.

If you wish to view wildlife without disturbing them, visit Rock Lake Viewpoint around dusk.

Secluded
Here, you feel a sense of calming seclusion, nestled in the valley surrounded by the front ranges of the Alberta Rockies.

At the top of our drive lane, you enter the clearing where the sawmill once stood. Take in the views of the Berland Ridge to your left, the Hoff Ridge to your right, Zebra, the Bazalgette and Mt. Hunter in front of you and the Moose Horn behind you.

Incredible, extraordinary views !!
